Your privacy matters. This policy explains how SQL Practice ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information.
The Short Version
Your learning data stays on your device. We don't track your behavior or sell your data. Subscription purchases are handled securely by Apple.
Information We Collect
Learning Progress Data
The app stores the following information locally on your device:
- Challenge completion status
- Lesson progress
- Streak and achievement data
- SQL queries you write (stored temporarily for execution)
- Statistics like accuracy rate and challenges solved
This data is stored locally on your device. We never see it.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to SQL Practice Pro:
- All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store
- We do not see or store your payment information
- We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to:
- Track your learning progress within the app
- Unlock achievements based on your accomplishments
- Maintain your streak and statistics
- Verify subscription status for Pro features
Data Storage and Security
Your learning data is:
- Stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage
- Never transmitted to our servers for analytics
- Protected by iOS device encryption
What We Don't Do
- No behavior tracking: We don't track how you use the app
- No data selling: We never sell your information
- No advertising: No ads, no tracking pixels, no data brokers
- No analytics SDKs: We don't use third-party analytics
- No account required: No email collection, no user profiles
Third-Party Services
Apple App Store
We use Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases. Apple processes all transactions according to their Privacy Policy.
No Other Third Parties
SQL Practice does not use any other third-party services, analytics tools, or tracking frameworks.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information. Your data never leaves your device unless:
- You manually share content (like screenshots)
- Apple processes a subscription purchase
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View your progress anytime in the app
- Delete: Delete all data by removing the app
- Cancel: Cancel subscriptions anytime through iOS Settings
Data Retention
Your learning data is stored on your device for as long as you use the app. When you delete the app, all stored data is removed.
Subscriptions
SQL Practice offers optional Pro subscriptions:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Manage subscriptions in your iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- Free trial period, if offered, will automatically convert to a paid subscription
Children's Privacy
SQL Practice is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we don't collect personal information from anyone.
California Privacy Rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since all data is stored locally and we collect nothing, you already have full control.
European Users (GDPR)
For EU users: Your data stays on your device. We are not a data controller as we don't collect or process your personal data beyond what's necessary for the app to function locally.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy and updating the "Last updated" date.
